What gets counted
Each browser is counted once a day when it opens the simulator, the builder or this board. When you fly, the simulator also reports which quad, input and map you picked, and how many laps, crashes and seconds of flying followed. The board adds it all to the day's totals and keeps nothing else.
No cookie is set. Your IP address is never stored: the edge in front of the site turns it into a two letter country code, and the board keeps only that code. Your browser decides whether you are new or returning from a date it keeps to itself, and sends just the yes or no. If you came in through a sponsor's link, your browser remembers that sponsor's name for 30 days, so the board knows which sponsor sent a visit but not who you are. The board also keeps the name of the site you came from, like reddit.com or news.ycombinator.com, but never the full address of the page. If the link had a short ref tag, it keeps that as well. Only tags on a fixed list are kept, and anything else is counted as "other", so nobody can fill the board with made-up tags.
For each of WebFPV's partners, the board also counts how often their mark was on screen, clicked or followed to their site, and how often a pilot found their mark painted in a freestyle map, each as a total per day. A click keeps the same two letter country as a visit does. Nothing says who clicked, and each partner sees only their own totals.
